How can designing masks together promote cultural and community pride, prosperity, and wealth? How can masks draw attention to the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on the Black community and the compounded effects of racial profiling?
Artists Cleo and Kayin Davis will guide brainstorming and sketching to gather ideas by participants. They will use the ideas to create final mask designs. Participants will receive a free mask with a final design from their workshop, and submitted participant sketches will be exhibited along with final masks! During the workshop, movement exercises will increase awareness of mental and physical changes when wearing masks.
Registrants will be sent the link to join the event a week before via email. Participants will receive a $15 gift card for their participation.
